About This Daikon
Minowase is a classic long white daikon known for smooth roots, crisp texture, and mild, clean flavor. Unlike small round radishes, daikon is grown more like a root vegetable, often used in sabzi, grated into paratha filling, sliced fresh, or pickled. The roots grow long and straight, making them especially satisfying to harvest. The leafy tops are edible too and can be sautéed or added to sabzis and dals, making the whole plant useful in the kitchen.
Fast-growing plants perform best in cooler weather and loose soil, producing reliable harvests that work naturally in both Indian and East Asian cooking.
Why We Grow It
We grow Minowase because it’s a dependable cool-season mooli that grows quickly and fits easily into everyday cooking. Both roots and greens can be harvested, giving you more to cook with from a single planting.
